From a small fleet to a presence across the archipelago
Ilha Verde was founded in São Miguel with a small fleet and a simple vision: to provide a practical and reliable way to discover the Azores. Over the years, it followed the evolution of tourism in the archipelago, invested in fleet modernisation and expanded its presence across the different islands.
Today, it combines the experience of an Azorean company with an operation prepared to meet the needs of residents, visitors and businesses, while maintaining the proximity and service quality that have marked its growth since 1971.

What documents are needed to rent a car in the Azores?
To collect the vehicle at an Ilha Verde station, you must present a valid driving licence and identification. A credit or debit card in the name of the renter or an additional driver listed on the contract is required for the deposit and payment.

Yes. Before collection, Ilha Verde may place an authorisation on the card to cover the rental, additional services and other related costs. The final amount is stated in the confirmation email and rental agreement.
